Development of a product
KNIFE is a concept for a customizable folding knife. It is designed to be manufactured with minimum effort while keeping in mind a strong degree of individualization.
A number of possible variants in handle styles, locking and opening mechanisms, as well as blade shapes have been tested, in order to find the most versatile components for a modular system
The exploration resulted in 4 archetypes for further customization.
Digital service
The customization of KNIFE takes place on a web-based e-commerce platform. The service lets the user define a blade shape, as well as color, material and finish of the handle.
